For Patients & Families | Seacrest Studios

Seacrest Studios at Boston Children’s Hospital opened November 14, 2014, in collaboration with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. Seacrest Studios is a state-of-the-art multimedia studio that broadcasts on the hospital’s closed-circuit TV network — on Channel 19, The Hub — to patient televisions on both the hospital's main campus and the Waltham satellite location. All programs are just for patients and families at the hospital.

Seacrest Studios is the physical place where we broadcast from, but Channel 19 The Hub is where we broadcast to. The Hub is a virtual, interactive community where patients and families can come together from wherever they are in the hospital to connect, engage, and have fun! We named our channel The Hub as a nod to Boston’s nickname, but also to acknowledge that we’re a hub of patient activity that branches out through our broadcasting capabilities to reach patients and families throughout the hospital community.

The Seacrest Studios team produces more than 700 live, interactive shows each year. Programs offered range from music request hours to game shows to “make-your-own” challenges to celebrity guest visits and much more. Patients can make song requests, participate in games, be a guest host or interviewer, or explore their creativity and hidden talents on the air. We try to broadcast something for everyone by offering a wide variety of programs, guests, and activities!

While 63 percent of our shows are produced exclusively by the Seacrest Studios team, we also collaborate with many groups, both within the hospital and from the community. Internally we have collaborated with Music Therapy Service, Artists-in-Residence, the Laughter League, the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, the Wellness Program, and the Pawprints Program, among many others. We also have great community relationships with organizations like the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, Musicians on Call, MyMusicRx, the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, and more.

And because we know you’re wondering … yes, we do have many opportunities for patients to meet cool celebrities! Patients have been able to meet many local and national celebrities through Seacrest Studios and The Hub, including Ed Sheeran, Meghan Trainor, Shawn Mendes, Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman, Sofia Carson, Charlie Puth, Alessia Cara, Sabrina Carpenter, the Jonas Brothers, Jojo Siwa, Brie Larson, Jack Black, WWE stars, Chris Pratt, Idina Manzel, Tiffany Haddish, and many more!
