Pipeline programs
Our pipeline programs seek to encourage students from diverse backgrounds to consider career opportunities in pediatric medicine. Our programs for high school, college, and graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds expose students to the varied career opportunities in pediatrics to foster interest in health care.
Current pipeline programs
Building Careers in Health and STEM: a week-long program to expose high school students to STEM careers in health care
SCRIPT: a longitudinal program for college pre-medical students who work as medical scribes and receive career mentorship
Recruitment initiatives
Each year, with support from Boston Children’s Human Resources, our office sponsors residents in the Boston Combined Residency Program to attend national training and recruitment events. These events offer career development opportunities for medical students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in medicine.
