Graduate student researchers
Anne-Michelle Engelstad is a doctoral candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education studying under the mentorship of Dr. Charles Nelson. Anne-Michelle earned her Bachelor’s in Special Education and Child Studies from Vanderbilt University (’15) and Master’s in Mind, Brain, and Education (HGSE ’16). Prior to joining the Labs of Cognitive Neuroscience, she was a senior research coordinator at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, coordinating an efficacy trial of a naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention for young children with autism. Anne-Michelle is thrilled to continue this work in the early identification and treatment of autism as a member of Dr. Nelson’s research team. |

Eileen Sullivan is a PhD student in Human Development, Learning and Teaching at Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and Harvard Graduate School of Education. Eily received a B.A. in Neurobiology in 2019 from Harvard College. In the Nelson Lab, Eily utilizes EEG/ERPs and fNIRS, along with behavioral measures, to investigate the impact of experiences (psychosocial and biological) on brain and cognitive development. She is particularly interested in studying early predictors of children's executive functions, language abilities, and school readiness in diverse contexts. |
