Hirschhorn Laboratory Research | Overview

The Hirschhorn Laboratory applies genetic, computational, genomic, metabolomic, and laboratory methods to study human obesity, skeletal growth, and other quantitative traits and diseases related to endocrine disorders (including diabetic kidney disease). Members of the lab also use a combination of computational and laboratory approaches to translate clues from human genetic studies into actionable biological insights that could help guide development of new therapies. We are also recruiting individuals from Boston Children’s Hospital for genetic and genomic studies of childhood disorders, including severe short stature or obesity, disorders of sex development, hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes.
