The Nutrition Assessment Laboratory, located in the Endoscopy Unit of the Division of GI/Nutrition at Boston Children's, provides state-of-the-art techniques for the assessment of body composition and energy expenditure.
Services provided by the Nutrition Assessment Laboratory include:
indirect calorimetry: a noninvasive study of energy expenditure
bod pod: a noninvasive method to determine body composition using whole body densitometry. This is considered the gold standard for fast, efficient and repeatable body composition assessment.
bioelectrical impedance: a noninvasive technique to measure percent body fat and lean body mass
