The social worker on your child's care team can provide support to parent and other caregivers and patients in coping with liver disease, connecting with community resources, and coordination of care with community providers including early intervention and schools.

  • National Patient Air Transport HELPLINE (1-800-296-1217): provides information about charitable medically related transportation.
  • Mercy Medical Angels: provides assistance in the air with commercial airline tickets and volunteer pilots and on the ground with gas cards, bus, and train tickets.

Financial resources

Health Care for All’s Helpline (1-800-272-4232): answers questions about health care in Massachusetts, including general insurance questions, co-payments, health insurance rules, and program eligibility.

NeedyMeds.org: a private nonprofit website with information on patient assistance programs by drug name and diagnosis. Has a drug discount card and links to generic drug programs by state.
