Yi-Ju Tseng are currently working on applying data mining technology to improve laboratories’ diagnostic capabilities and exploring the probability of using electronic medical records to support disease surveillance. Her project at CHIP was focused on measuring the changing incidence of Lyme disease in the US. She has also been working with a major US payor on a big data project on the cost of medical devices. Before she joined CHIP, she designed and developed a healthcare-associated infection surveillance system and an organism surveillance system for the Center for Infection Control at the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH). These infection control systems have become indispensable tools for infection control programs at the NTUH.

Researcher | Research Background
Yi-Ju Tseng is an assistant professor at the Department of Information Management, Chang Gung University (CGU) and an affiliated faculty at Computational Health Informatics Program (CHIP), Boston Children’s Hospital, with extensive experience in claims data analysis, electronic medical record analysis, and data mining analytics. After being a research fellow at CHIP in 2016, she joined CGU, where she is teaching data analysis and programming courses and conducting research on improving disease surveillance using informatics techniques and applying data mining technology to clinical decision support. Based on her research interests and expertise, she was invited to join the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH) at Linkou as an adjunct assistant research fellow in 2016. She received a MOST Young Scholar Fellowship in 2018.
