Researcher | Research Overview
My primary academic focus is quality improvement and patient safety in neonatal intensive care. I am particularly interested in innovative approaches to quality improvement. As the Quality Improvement Director for the BIDMC Department of Neonatology, I lead several improvement and safety initiatives within the NICU, and I am chair of the Neonatal Quality Improvement Collaborative of Massachusetts (NeoQIC), a collaboration of the level III NICUs in Massachusetts that focuses on the use of open sharing of data and practices to improve health outcomes for newborns across the state. My research interests include examination of clinical determinants of chronic lung disease, use of physiologic data for outcome prediction, and neonatal infection prevention.
