Our lab studies the role of endothelial cells and pericytes in vasculogenic and/or angiogenic diseases. We have three main focus areas:
- vascular tumors (infantile hemangioma)
- vascular malformations (e.g., capillary malformation)
- endothelial to mesenchymal transition (EndMT) in mitral valve endothelium after myocardial infarction and potential for EndMT to contribute to fibrosis and stiffening of mitral valve leaflets
