Pediatric Health Care Associates (PHCA) is a large group practice made up of 27 board-certified pediatricians and 8 pediatric nurse practitioners, who work in five offices located north of Boston. Our practice is able to offer the widest range of clinical services and appointment availability of any pediatric practice in the region without sacrificing the quality, family-centered care you and your child will receive at each of our offices.
The physicians and nurse practitioners of PHCA have provided primary medical care to children and adolescents on the North Shore of Boston for over 40 years. We look forward to helping you keep your children healthy, safe, and happy.
Why should you choose PHCA?
Children don't get sick at convenient times. As a large group practice, PHCA is able to offer extended hours for your convenience. These appointments are available for all our patients, no matter which office your child usually attends. We are committed to seeing our patients whenever possible, so that you might avoid the emergency room for routine pediatric problems. However, should concerns arise outside of our clinic hours, both a triage nurse and on-call pediatrician are available 24 hours a day to help. When emergency services are needed, we are happy to refer our patients to local emergency departments and will work with them to coordinate your child's care.
Children are not just "little adults"
Pediatricians are trained to address issues regarding the social, emotional, and physical development of children, as well as to treat the unique symptoms children may have during times of illness. The physicians at PHCA are all board-certified in pediatrics and members of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and are therefore committed to lifelong learning regarding pediatric care. The nurse practitioners at PHCA also have advanced pediatric training
Children deserve a medical home
At PHCA, care is focused on your entire family by a doctor that knows you best. Well visits or visits for ongoing problems can always be booked with your child's primary pediatrician or nurse practitioner. Sick appointments are also built into each doctor's daily schedule, so that they may see their patients on an urgent basis. Should your child's provider not be available, our electronic medical record will ensure that all our providers have the most complete information about your child's health at their fingertips. We are also committed to coordinating your child's medical care. We offer many specialized services right in our own offices, ranging from behavioral health to lactation support to asthma education; click here to learn more.
