Dr. Vicky Ruleman joined Pediatric Health Care Associates in 2017. Before her time at PHCA, she completed her internship and residency at LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans, LA. During this time, she developed her passion for improving the healthcare of underserved populations. She actively worked to improve interpretation services for patients and help them better understand their health care. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Ruleman attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center after graduating cum laude from Vanderbilt University. Additionally, Dr. Ruleman has conducted research through the National Institutes of Health Minority Health International Research Training Program, which aims to increase exposure initiatives that address health disparities. Furthermore, she has volunteered in Nicaragua, working with local communities on health care prevention through nutrition and exercise classes. Dr. Ruleman’s clinical interests lie in immigrant health as well as child and adolescent development.

For me, the most important aspect of pediatrics involves truly listening and understanding the goals of parents and children. I aim to make every parent feel that their concerns have been patiently and thoughtfully heard. Ultimately, my desire is that my patients’ parents have the answers that they need to raise healthy, successful children.
