Erin Mahony | Professional History

Dr. Erin Mahony grew up locally in Belmont. She attended Belmont High School and then earned her bachelor degree at Colgate University. Following college, she spent a year doing research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute before attending Yale School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at MassGeneral Hospital for Children in 2008, and served for an additional year as Chief Resident. She joined Belmont Cambridge Health Care in 2009 as the second physician on staff. Her special interests include early childhood development, education and nutrition. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and dog, as well as cooking, swimming, and hiking.

As a child, I had a chronic medical condition that required frequent doctor's visits and multiple interventions and surgeries. I was fortunate to have a positive experience that lead to my interest in the field. I am now able to incorporate my understanding of the experience of patients and families into the compassionate care I provide to patients and families every day.
