Research goals

Our goal is to capture, aggregate and decode longitudinal genomic and clinical data from a large population (beyond Boston Children's Hospital) with the aim of a precision medicine model for post-kidney transplant patients.

We will build this data trove by:

  • Performing Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) for a significant number of post-kidney transplant patients from Boston Children's Hospital and other centers.
  • Using that WES data as the cornerstone for a database that collects and aggregates data from post-kidney transplant patients at Boston Children's Hospital and an increasing number of transplant centers, nationally and globally.
  • Making this information and resulting analyses on methods to improve graft survival-widely accessible to clinicians, researchers, and patients/families across the globe.

We thank the Isabella Julian Forrest Fund for Pediatric Transplant Research.
