About the fellowship
The Pediatric Addiction Medicine Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital focuses on providing clinicians with the skills needed to provide clinical services and engage in research related to prevention and treatment of substance use disorders in children and adolescents, with an emphasis on individuals vulnerable to health disparity by virtue of poverty, culture, age, gender, disability, or chronic illness. The first fellowship of its kind in the country, this one-year clinical fellowship includes training experiences guided by the multi-disciplinary faculty in the Adolescent Substance Use & Addiction Program (ASAP) within the Division of Developmental Medicine, allowing fellows to gain clinical skills and knowledge regarding adolescent substance use through the lens of developmental-behavioral pediatrics. Fellows will have the opportunity to complete clinical rotations in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment, adolescent medicine, toxicology, pain management, neonatology, addiction in pregnancy, and pediatric consultation.
