What are the symptoms of hyperparathyroidism?

While each child may experience symptoms differently, some of the most common include:

Hyperparathyroidism | Diagnosis & Treatments

How is hyperparathyroidism diagnosed?

The first step in diagnosis is a complete medical history and physical examination. Your child's doctor may also order bone x-rays or blood or urine tests.

What are the treatment options for hyperparathyroidism?

The type of treatment you child needs for hyperparathyroidism may depend on the severity of the condition and its cause.

If your child has a low level of vitamin D, they may need to take vitamin D supplements.

Some children may need surgery to remove the parathyroid gland.
