Nicole Baumer | Professional History
Dr. Baumer is a board certified child neurologist and pediatrician, specializing in the care of children with complex neurodevelopmental disabilities. She graduated from Skidmore College and Harvard Medical School. She also obtained a Masters in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she focused on Special Education and educational research. Dr. Baumer sees patients in the Neurology Department and in the Developmental Medicine Center at Boston Children’s Hospital. She specializes in the treatment of individuals with Down syndrome, intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and neurobehavioral disorders. In addition to clinical care, she is working to develop a robust research program within the Down Syndrome Program to study potential therapeutics that may positively impact learning, memory, and behavior for children with Down syndrome. Her main research focus involves characterization of medical, developmental, and behavioral profiles of children with Down syndrome, and exploring educational strategies and behavioral and medical interventions for individuals with Down syndrome.
