Emily Pluhar | Professional History
Dr. Pluhar is currently a member of the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, and is the Director of the Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship in Leadership in Education and Health (LEAH). She is also a member of the Division of Sports Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Her career has been dedicated to helping support the mental and physical health of adolescents and their families through direct patient care, education, research, and program development. In the Division of Adolescent Medicine, Dr. Pluhar sees patients with chronic medical illness, suicidal behavior, non-suicidal self-injurious behavior, mood disorders, and treats them with empirically validated treatments. In the Division of Sports Medicine, she treats adolescent and young adult athletes who experience mental health issues as a result of post-concussion syndrome, ACL injuries, and post-surgical rehabilitation complications.
Dr. Pluhar’s research interests include adolescent health, non-suicidal self-injury, suicidal behavior, and mental health issues related to sports injuries.
