At Needham Pediatrics, we firmly believe in the safety and efficacy of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives.

Vaccines are not controversial within the medical and scientific communities. Every vaccine we use has been carefully studied and each of the vaccines is proven to be safe. There is strong published scientific evidence demonstrating that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities. There is also strong evidence that vaccines are safe in combination. Studies have shown no benefit to splitting up or delaying vaccines.

At Needham Pediatrics, we follow the standard vaccine schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. We do not recommend delaying or breaking up vaccines. Delaying or refusing your child's vaccines endangers others, including children who are too young or ill to receive vaccines themselves.

Ultimately, if you choose not to vaccinate your child despite the information we provide, we will ask you to find another pediatric practice. We owe it to our community of patients and families to maintain an office environment that is safe for all who visit us.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have concerning this important aspect of your child's health.
