Selena Jorgensen | Professional History

Selena Jorgensen, MD obtained her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. After completing a general pediatrics residency at the University of Washington/Seattle Children's Hospital, she returned to Boston to work as a neonatal and pediatric hospitalist within the South Coast Health System. Dr. Jorgensen's special interests include neonatal abstinence syndrome and SIDS prevention. Within her local hospital system, Dr. Jorgensen is the site leader for quality improvement projects focused on improving the care of substance exposed newborns and providing safe sleep education for hospital staff and families.

In the Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) our philosophy is to ensure that every patient receives the best care for the best possible outcomes. We consider our “patient” to be the baby and the family; we are constantly striving to serve the needs of both. This requires a team based approach with all members being essential.
