Needle-Phobic Vaccine Session for Flu/COVID Vaccination
We are excited to announce the return of our needle-phobic group session during the week of November 27th!
This program, hosted by Patrick Sweeney, LMHC, involves a two-session format. Session one, under the supervision of Patrick Sweeney, will concentrate on education and desensitization regarding needles and vaccinations. Session two involves the children being scheduled for their vaccinations, again, under the supervision of Patrick Sweeney.
The program:
- Session One (Education): Monday, 11/27 at 7 p.m. – Mansfield Office
- Session Two (Vaccinations): Tuesday, 11/28 at 5 p.m. – Mansfield Office
As part of the process, we ask that the children attend the session without parents. This is to promote independent thinking and resilience. The program should last about 60 minutes on the first evening. This program has been highly successful with our patients in the past, and we look forward to assisting your child through the process.
This group is strictly for those children who meet the requirement of “severe needle phobia”, meaning they have required restraint or medication in the past. Minimum age is 6 years old, maximum age 14 years old. If your child is older, please register, and if there are enough older children, we may consider another group.
Please contact Patrick Sweeney directly at psweeney922@gmail.com to register your child for this free group. Leave the following information:
- Child’s name & age
- Cell phone number of parent for follow-up contact if necessary
Closing date for this first group will be November 24th.
